Evidence-Based Goals

I'm doing some work for the National Institutes for Health on disseminating behavioral innovations related to reducing substance abuse. One of the interesting pieces of content we're using is the evidence-based standards for how much alcohol one can drink.
  • Men, under 65: 14 drinks per week, no more than four in any one day
  • Women, and men over 65: 7 drinks per week, no more than three in any one day
  • Pregnant women should drink alcohol at all.

From the viewpoint of our coproduction experience model, these standards act as evidence-based goals (Vision) for driving customer performance. I happen to think that this is one of the more persuasive means of establishing goals for important behavioral changes - using research to establish the goals.
